The Lake House | Human kind has managed in a relatively short period of time to contaminate the most vital systems in our lives, our bodies to begin with, though will discuss it in another post, but also the internet and hmmmmm . . . our sewage systems. As part of the weekly update from the town hall about what is right, wrong and temporarily illegal, the one big request from the people is to refrain from throwing wet towels/wipes into the toilet as it is continuously clogs the sewage system in random places and calls for emergency workers to deal with that Sh#t. I also recall a news article - so I trust it was a real thing - that there are truckloads of wipes being removed from water treatment plants. Not sure what is on people's mind, when they know it is not right. So much you can blame the babysitter for, nevertheless these days, we know it is YOU.
Without getting too deep into technology, the web page that you view - on your computer or on your smart device is a collection of links to endless pieces of information that are ever changing.
What is happening in the background of a single page displayed, is making the famous Tsukiji Seafood Market in Tokyo look like an amateur show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtIwRwvTFB4#action=share. The amount of trade that goes behind the digital real estate of what you see at any given moment is running a global market of Trillions of $$$ and this is done for every page watched by anyone in the world at any given moment. Now when you feel a bit dizzy to just realize that this is what is happening you can understand that there are loads of garbage also running around in what is called simply the internet. After all is said and done you end up with an innocent peaceful two dimensional page, as if there are no epic wars happening behind it. The flood of information that is running there, when everything is becoming digital, with a tsunami of Internet of things, nevertheless human TMI that flies all over like a giant cloud of mosquitoes, creates what has been whitewashed to a term called Data Lake where you need to go and figure right from wrong and temporarily illegal, in an endless amount of data. So companies developed models to work a solution that sounds so exotic - Lake House . . . Instead of working clean to begin with, by not throwing "wipes" - though it seems a lost battle, we end up using clean words that define that there is so much garbage/digital garbage out there that forces us to pre-filter things out for us to see better what we actually need. We have to use the most brilliant data scientists that would know to ask the right question to avoid the overwhelming amount of contradicting answers. If I dared envisioning a lake house a place where I could enjoy a cold beer after a good swim or kayaking in a pristine spot of sanity, it had been taken abruptly to become used as yet another filter. How far are we going to reach with laundering the reality, being more innovative cleaning after ourselves . . . Wake up humans before we are all covered in a multiple dimensions pile of cr@p.
