The Fancy Shirt on Misery Brook | On my last visit to a premium outlet more that two years ago and seems going to be my last, period, it was a Calvin Klein store where you have the dress shirts piled up, the ones on sale and the ones that are not. Let alone I asked my daughter to pick one for me. It wasn't before the evening of that day when I reviewed my bill where I realized it was a premium priced dress shirt. So much for saving money, nevertheless a call for a closer look at the bill prior to plastic. When dealing with fancy shirts you are asked to test your coupon clipped laundry detergent on a hidden spot to make sure it does not stain your expensive garment.
Hidden spots are also where the homeless folks on Alewife Brook placing their tents for the summer, they take shifts in the burning sun each with their story written on a cardboard asking for the mercy of the drivers standing at the light.
Alewife brook is evaporating, the little water lilies have forgotten the glory days painted by Monet, they look like they were steamed by the heat turning the brook into a grey water and cooked greens summer soup. Next to it are some of the tents, hiding. I would rename it to Misery Brook instead.
When you enter the Earth exhibition in EPCOT center there is a short movie about our planet, I was striked by the simple fact that no water drop has left earth since it's creation - and still we are in shortage of water. Alewife brook turn into misery is just one unfortunate example of how we fail to protect our most important resource.
If the homeless people would have a T-Shirt stating - Welcome to Misery Brook, Have a Nice Day - they would have gotten many more contributions from the drivers going back to their homes in their expensive towns, not letting the cool air escape their Teslas (saving on battery power), nevertheless getting a sweat spot on their fancy shirts. After all they have tested them only with a laundry detergent, god forbid if there is a sweat stain that would stay there forever, trashing any possibility to ware it again, well not by them. They will donate it to the less fortunate. Even with the same shirt on the other side of the quarter inch tinted glass - none will be opened not the heart nor the window. Not really sure whom is more miserable on Misery Brook...
