Who Flipped the Sand Clock (Hourglass)?| When you enter the small door that leads you to the GI unit, there is sign left from March talking about the beauty of the age of 50. It lists typical phenomena of the aging body trying hard to be funny. Well, not funny. Not when you are past that age, not when you are humiliated by the preparation for the procedure and not by the procedure itself. That journey when you reach a certain age that searches for what will kill you first, makes you go through experiences you sometimes do not really care, nevertheless the un-necessary sign.

Do not get me wrong I am a happy dude in a fine shape and I am not planning on dying any time soon, but as you grow older you sometimes wonder who flipped that sand clock that changed from counting up to counting down. You ask yourself if there is anyway to control the pace that the particles go down through the hourglass.

You push the midlife as far as you can living as healthy and active, but is it really the middle?

Trying to keep yourself useful for as much as you can, leaving the least amount of time for the 'declining phase'.

We live in an era where everything is measurable including your life expectancy, you get an idea of how well you do relatively to your age, but you cannot avoid the fact that as older you get the list of things that could kill you grows and more probes are put in your body looking for that next thing, being reminded that we were never promised immortality. You can never tell when you get to trail's end, you keep pushing through yet another check point getting a pat on the shoulder for a job well done and keep it going until you reach to that last particle of send, the end of the road, can you see the next check point from there? would it really matter then? Damn sign
